Absolutely wonderful.

There is one fallacy I do wish you had dealt with because it is the one they use on each other and the one they think justifies their resistance as "defending freedom."

The slippery slope. The idea that a seemingly innocous idea will, if followed, ultimately lead to something horrible. The idea is that the small first step will lead to a series of other steps that lead to something destructive.. And it is the hardest to convince those that employ it that it is false.

They have been employing this one for decades. They used it over light bulbs--or really anything that regulates what you can buy. If they take away our incandescent light bulbs then they will come for your pick-up trucks and hamburgers. Then we'll have a soviet-style economy.

They do it with guns: if they ban AR-15s, they will come for all your guns. Then there will be tyranny.

It's the argument that is at the root of their "I'm defending freedom" nonsense. It is also the type of argument that gets them to double down on everything because it just feds their paranioa.
